BRIEF

OMSOM is a New York-based food brand founded in 2020 by Kim and Vanessa Pham. Its headquarters is in New York City, and the company specializes in creating bold, flavor-packed pantry staples inspired by authentic Asian cuisines. OMSOM aims to bring restaurant-quality flavors to home kitchens with ease, celebrating the rich heritage and diversity of Asian cooking.

 

Some of their biggest features include partnerships with Disney, The Kitchn, and Bon Appétit, reflecting the brand's growing cultural impact and culinary innovation.

At the outset of my research, I delved into OMSOM's website, examining their company values, history, and the creative designs crafted by the agency OUTLINE.

DIGITAL IDENTITY TO PRINT

I utilized key website elements and photographs from OMSOM’s online presence to inform and inspire the design of the booklet. By incorporating their vibrant visuals, dynamic layouts, and bold imagery, I ensured the booklet maintained a cohesive aesthetic while highlighting the brand's unique identity and cultural storytelling.

SIGNITURE PACKAGE

Since OMSOM actively participates in outdoor events, offering a thoughtfully curated package could effectively attract potential consumers. This package could include a tote bag, branded stickers, a sauce set, and a promotional booklet to showcase the brand and its story.

PROMOTIONAL BOOKLET

To embody OMSOM's energetic identity, I aimed to design the booklet as an interactive and memorable piece that consumers would cherish and share with those around them. To ensure consistency with the brand's vibrant aesthetic, I selected glossy paper to enhance its visual appeal and tactile quality.

IN CONCLUSION...

This project was an exciting opportunity to immerse myself in OMSOM's vibrant brand identity and translate its bold, unapologetic spirit into a tangible, cohesive promotional experience. Through careful research and thoughtful design, I sought to capture the energy and authenticity that define OMSOM, ensuring every element reflected their mission to celebrate Asian flavors and culture.

Creating the promotional booklet and accompanying merch allowed me to explore the intersection of storytelling and design, leveraging visuals and tactile elements to engage consumers in a meaningful way. This project not only deepened my appreciation for crafting culturally resonant designs but also sharpened my ability to align creative strategies with brand values.
